{"id":3394,"date":"2023-05-27T12:10:47","date_gmt":"2023-05-27T11:10:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.wp-ra.org.uk\/?p=3394"},"modified":"2023-05-27T12:25:48","modified_gmt":"2023-05-27T11:25:48","slug":"please-object-to-5g-mast-planning-application-near-the-coop","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wp-ra.org.uk\/?p=3394","title":{"rendered":"Please object to 5G mast planning application near the Coop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A planning application (<span data-offset-key=\"5g1a-0-3\">23\/01418\/TEL) <\/span>has been submitted to the Council to erect a 15 metre high mast and large cabinets close to the Coop at Westminster Park shops.\u00a0 Although we are aware that 5G masts are needed, WPRA does not consider this to be the right place for it and we urge you to object to it.\u00a0 The more objections received, the more the Council have to listen, so please don&#8217;t think it&#8217;s not worth doing!<\/p>\n<p>The key points of objection are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The 2m tall cabinets will cause <strong>road safety problems<\/strong> by interfering with the line of sight of motorists and cyclists using the shop car park.<\/li>\n<li>The cabinets will <strong>interfere with the line of sight of pedestrians<\/strong> crossing the entrance to the car park.<\/li>\n<li>Narrowing this busy pavement will <strong>cause congestion and upset<\/strong>. The Site Plan does not show the electric scooter park which is also on this area of footpath alongside the bike park.<\/li>\n<li>The wall adjacent to this site is used as a resting place by the elderly when visiting the shops or waiting for the bus as there is no bench in the vicinity. <strong>This amenity will be lost<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<li>The height of the pole is more than double the height of surrounding buildings and will dominate an area which local people have worked hard to make attractive.
