Spotting and avoid common scams, fraud and schemes online and offline
The internet is the most widely used communication network ever constructed. It’s used by millions of humans and machines every second of every day. There are good and bad things happening on the internet and one of the most prolific bad things are the ongoing attempts to scam innocent people out of their money or identities. We’ve written a series of articles dealing with various types of common internet scams and have rounded them all up together in this article. Each of these articles deals with the detection and avoidance of nefarious scams such as phishing, credit card scams, and tech support scams.

Road Closures
Overnight road closures are taking place later this month to allow Cheshire West and Chester Council to carry out resurfacing works on a major route.
Affected will be the A483 Grosvenor Road and Overleigh roundabout with contractors operating between 8pm and 6am from Sunday, March 18 until Sunday, March 25.
The routes will re-open to all users during the daytime and pedestrian routes will be maintained at all times.
To ensure the safety of both the workforce and the travelling public a full road closure is needed. However access will be maintained for emergency services.
The two schemes are part of the council’s highway maintenance programme but have been programmed together to minimise disruption.

Geoff Nelder Talk
Advance notice of a talk Geoff Nelder is giving at the Lache Library on June 21st 2018 at 2:30pm. My talk is why I wrote the historical fantasy novel Xaghra’s Revenge, which was published in the summer of 2017. I’ll be revealing secrets I found on the gorgeous Mediterranean island of Gozo. Don’t worry there’s no compulsory purchase.
Fact: in 1551 pirates abducted over 5,000 people from Gozo and sold them as slaves. Those souls need revenge and Nelder gives it to them in his historical fantasy Xaghra’s Revenge.
