• Salmon Leap – Vehicle crime. Afternoon of 13/10/11. Two male offenders seen smashing windows of two vehicles before making off.
• Rushfield Road – Theft from motor vehicle. Overnight 15-16/10/11. Offender enters insecure Toyota Avensis vehicle and steal sat. nav. device.
• Prenton Place – Criminal damage. Overnight 16-17/10/11. Offender(s) smash glass pane in front door.
• Chester Golf Club – Burglary (other). Overnight 17-18/10/11. Offender(s) force entry to golf club and make search of premises. Cash stolen from safe.
• St Marks Road – Burglary (dwelling). Daytime 19/10/11. Offender(s) gain entry to premises via insecure bathroom window after climbing onto flat roof. Gold jewellery stolen
• Curzon Park – Theft from motor vehicle. Daytime 21/10/11. Offender(s) steal quantity of power tools and tool box from rear of works van (only noticed on 22/10/11).

• Eaton Road – Burglary (other). Offender(s) steal earthing cable from secure electrical substation.
• Fairford Road – Burglary (dwelling). Afternoon period. Offender(s) smash rear kitchen window and gain entry before stealing £20 from money tin.
• Newbury Road – Theft. Evening period. Offender(s) steal insecure grey Carrera cycle from communal hallway.
• Appleyards Lane – Theft. Overnight period. Offender(s) steal insecure Raleigh Twenty cycle from rear garden.
• Barony Way – Theft. Over few days period. Offender(s) enter rear garden and steal stone bird bath & sun-dial ornaments. Items removed using wheelie bin.
• Vincent Drive – Burglary (dwelling). Offender(s) force ground floor window to premises before alarm activated. Offender(s) then make good escape.

The below is an appeal for information from PC Tony Owens from Dragonhall Police Station.

In the last 48hrs two Ifor Williams, twin axle, HB506 horse trailers have been stolen in the area.

The first went from Tushingham at about 9:40pm on 26^th September 2011. This trailer was dark blue.

The second was at about 10:45pm on 27^th September 2011 from Christleton.  A white Ford Transit was seen towing this away with three males on board. This trailer was silver.

LOANS

Trading Standards would like to warn people to steer clear of scam loan companies who take upfront fees but fail to provide credit or offer clearly unsuitable credit alternatives.

Please be extra vigilant when dealing with or taking calls from loan companies that want upfront fees and who are not interested in your credit history as they may take the payment then disappear with your money.

The Office of Fair Trading has reported seeing a 50 per cent year-on-year rise in complaints about loan scams, particularly credit applications which involve the consumer sending upfront fees through money transfer companies.

Some points to consider:

• Be cautious if a loan company cold-calls you
• Research the business offering the loan – look for a landline phone number and a physical address and ask for information in writing
• Check that the company has a credit license on the Consumer Credit Register at www.oft.gov.uk/ConsumerCreditRegister

FAKE JACKETS

A member of the public was approached by a male maybe of Italian origin who stopped his car, possibly a Fiat and asked for directions. The male claimed he had been on business in the area and needed to get back to the M6 motorway. Before driving away having been given the directions he pointed out that his boss had given him some clothing samples and indicated to several Giorgio Armani leather coats on view in the car.

Please do not be tempted to buy these items as they are likely to be either stolen or fake goods.

• Co-Op 5 Ashes Road – Theft. Male offender caught on CCTV stealing chocolates from display.
• West Cheshire College – Theft. Afternoon period. Male Offender steals secured £1200 mountain bike from cycle rack.
• Westminster Avenue – Burglary (other). Over 24 hour period. Offender(s) force entry to summer house & garden shed in rear garden. Nothing apparently stolen.
• Curzon Park South – Burglary (other). Afternoon period. Male offender disturbed breaking into garage. Offender made off and nothing stolen.
• Fairford Road – Theft. A local male has been charged with the theft of a pedal cycle following police enquiries.
• Newbury Road – Drugs. Following a Chester Neighbourhood Enforcement Team operation, a local female has been charged with Possession With Intent to supply Cannabis.

• Hampton Road – Criminal Damage. Over 24 hour period. Offender(s) kick rear nearside door on parked BMW causing damage.
• Dover Road – Theft. Over 2 day period. Offender(s) steal Marin Novano mountain bike that had been secured to drain pipe of residential dwelling.
• Curzon Park South – Criminal Damage. Overnight period. Offender(s) damage sections of wooden fence.
• Barony Way – Theft of motor vehicle. Overnight period. Offender(s) steal blue Honda 100cc scooter – DE55 UCW from driveway of premises.
• Forge Way – Theft from motor vehicle. Overnight period. Offender(s) approach vehicle parked on driveway. Entry gained and fishing tackle, tools, money and CD’s stolen.
• Vincent Drive – Theft of tools. Over 1 week period. Offender(s) gain entry to greenhouse and then steal tool box containing various power and wood-working tools.
